Wednesday we are in the Book of Hebrews, we are in chapter 12. It is a very interesting study. Come and join us we look to seeing you here.
Got back after vacation and made a visit to Mr. James Simms and family. It was a wonderful surprise as we didn't tell them we were coming. They seem well and the Palm Harbor congregation was very welcoming to us even though we were very late =p (took a wrong turn that added 45 min or so to our trip). Thank you very much. If anyone is near enough around Palm Harbor (Tampa, FL) and they are looking for a scriptural/biblical church, go and visit with them, learn with them, and have a jolly time. We also visited "Central church of Christ" in Naples FL. They have a website too. From the website, my visit in worship with them, and speaking with them, found them to be scriptural and desire with all their heart to follow the bible as the first century Christian would. If anyone is ever around, go check them out and worship with them. They would love to have you there. They are off of Pine Ridge just before Goodlette-frank. It felt good for my family and I to know that we were still able to "charge our batteries" and worship with fellow family Christians thousands of miles from our own family at home.
Feb. 4th sermon "Spiritual Blessings in Christ" Ephesians 1:3 is the text Thesis: All spiritual blessings are IN Christ! 1- How are we righteous in Christ 2- What about those NOT in Christ Discussion: 1- How are we righteous in Christ? **By obeying the gospel Mark 16:15-16 (what is the gospel? 1 Corinthians 15:1-5) Romans 6:1-5 (this is how we obey the death burial and resurrection found in 1 Cor.15:1-5) 1 Corinthians 15:15-16 Colossians 1:11-14 2- What about those not in Christ? **Separated from God! 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 Matthew 7:21-23
The end of January had a 2 part sermon Jan.21st "The God who died"pt1 Text: John 20:26-29 Thesis: Jesus was in the beginning and was God, took upon Himself the form of a servant, and died by crucifixion. In the beginning Genesis 1:1-4 John 1:1-5 Was born Matthew 1:23-25 John 1:14 His purpose Luke 19:10 His death Mark 15:37 Interesting verses/facts If you ask people today, what is the gospel? The answer you will receive will be along the lines of "Its the good news". The problem with this is, in a world that does all it can to avoid baptism as a necessity, it shy's away from the admittance that one needs to be "buried" with Christ. Verses that directly relate to this are: 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (this is what the gospel is "death, burial, resurrection") Romans 6:1-5 (explaining that baptism IS that burial) Galatians 3:26-27 (only when one is baptized, are they finally "in Christ") see also Mark 16:15-16 and Matthew 28:19-20 In Isaiah 7, it prophecies that Jesus will be born. Did you know this is over 600 years before the new testament comes into play? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 2 of "The God who died" Jan 28th Text is John 20:26-29 Thesis: Jesus lived and died, arose from the dead and resurrected to the right hand of God From the grave Matthew 28:1-8 Witnesses have seen this 1 Corinthians 15:1-8 At the right hand of God Colossians 3:1 Hebrews 10:10-12 (ref Hebrews 10:4) Now interceding 1 Timothy 2:3-6
--Combined Sermons-- January 7th: "Why did the church grow so fast in the first century?" Text: Acts 4:4 Thesis: On Pentecost 3,000 souls were added, and a little while later in Acts, 5,000. Why so many so fast? Importance of the soul John 3:16 Romans 5:6-10 Disobedient punished 2 Thess. 1:7-9 Matthew 7:21-23 Righteous rewarded 2 Timothy 4:6-8 Hebrews 5:8-9 Other noted scriptures Matthew 25:46 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Romans 6:1-5 John 5:28-29 January 14th: "Always Abounding" text: 1 Corinthians 15:58 thesis: We must always abound in the work of the Lord Scripture used in discussion: 1 Peter 3:12 Ephesians 1:3 Isaiah 58:2 1 John 1:7 Romans 11:22 1 Thess 5:17 Acts 6:4 Acts 12:25 Colossians 1:9-10 Titus 2:7-8 John 6:29
Apologies for being so silent here on facebook. The last Sunday's sermon was about... "True Repentance" Text: Acts 17:30-31 Thesis: Repentance is a change of mind, and action is required of all mankind! Into: 1- Repentance a) What? b) Who? c) Why? d) When? Discussion: A) What is repentance? Acts 8:19-22 2 Corinthians 7:8-10 Romans 6:16-18 B) Who must repent? Acts 17:30-31 C) Why repent? Luke 13:3 Isaiah 59:1-2 tied with 1 Peter 3:12 D) When to repent? 1 Peter 3:15 James 4:13-15
Last Sunday's Sermon was about.... "God demands doctrinal preaching" Text: 1st Peter 4:11 Thesis: We must teach God's word without compromise! Joshua taught God's word: Joshua 22:5 Joshua 23:6 Joshua 24:29-31 See also Malachi 3:8-9 Note: See what is accomplished when you obey God? Now compare Joshua with Judges, etc. What happened to them when they left God's word? Jesus taught God's word: John 12:48-50 Mark 7:6-9 Matthew 7:24-27 Matthew 7:21-23 Interesting note to think about: How are disciples made? Answer found in Matthew 28:19-20 Paul taught God's word: Galatians 1:11-12 Phillippian 4:9 2 Timothy 2:2 Note: Notice the key word in Phil 4:9? Key word is "do". New age modern day teaching will have you believe repentance means to apologize. This is wrong. With that way of thinking someone can kick you and apologize and then keep kicking you so long as they apologize. Repentance means to turn away from and stop (ref. Phil 4:13). Did you know, Scripture tells us that those who do not obey God's entire gospel, are just as doomed as those who do not know or follow God? 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 Something to think about... John 14:15 and John 15:14. So your a friend if you do all that He commands. What happens if you do not do all that He commands? Are you His friend?
Got a handful of our Youtube videos labeled for those who haven't noticed yet. We will try to work on the rest so that it will be easier to pick through them. This way, labeling them will help for those who wish to know what the video lesson/sermon is discussing and choose videos upon their study needs.
Hope everyone has had a great Thanksgiving week. To reflect about such a day and how we as Christians are to conduct ourselves, everyday is thanksgiving. Speaking of how we as Christians should conduct ourselves, come join us physically or via the webcam through our live stream youtube account. We have been doing a series of lessons/sermons about how Christians conduct themselves to our Lord, to our brethren, to those not in His kingdom, and to ourselves (etc). Any and all questions will be met with scripture and not our opinion. Side Note: We will try and get the youtube uploads labeled so they can be browsed better for everyone's convenience.
Last Sundays sermon was about....... "Singing in worship" Text: Ephesians 5:19 Thesis: Christians sing from the heart unto God Topics: 1- Singing Authorized 2- Singing with understanding 3- Sing from the heart Verses used in the discussion: 1- John 4:23-24 2- Matthew 28:18 (memorable quote: no room for man to make changes) 3- Matthew 15:9 (memorable quote: a warning) 4- Matthew 17:5 5- 1 Corinthians 14:15 (memorable quote:Did you know, most bible translations have in this verse "understanding". In the Greek, it is put down as "mind") 6- Colossians 3:23-24 (memorable quote: Do it from/unto the heart) 7- Colossians 3:16-17 (memorable quote: Sing from the heart/ The songs we sing have lessons in them we can learn from) 8- Ephesians 5:19 (memorable quote: Think of prayer. When someone prays, are you just listening or are you there with them praying? It is the same with singing.) Side Notes: 1- No room in scripture for instruments. 2- No instruments were found in any churches until 606 AD 3- Who sings? Christians, we sing, as a congregation. If you are capable of watching video, you can find this sermons discussion on our youtube page. If you have trouble finding it, we have a direct link from our webpage. If you are capable, come on and join us in worship to our Lord. We would answer any questions you may pose straight from scripture.
We have got some feed back about our video and sound quality on a positive note. Seems like we may be finally set and settled into our new setup. Thank you to all who helped inform us how this was functioning. On another note, we would be more than happy and grateful for anyone that wishes to stop by and worship with us. Questions are always welcome, as it is how we all learn. Answers will be given from scripture and only scripture as the go to. If your just dropping in.... Sundays: (mornings) We've been learning about what a Christian is and should be. (evenings) Going through the OT books one step at a time. Mondays: Will not be on live feed as we study in the back room. This is a perfect chance for anyone to ask away questions while we study through subjects of the scriptures. Wednesday: We've been going through the book of Hebrews.
**News** Okay, I didn't want to put my foot in my mouth like last time, so we waited to see about the live feed sound this time. So far it is crystal clear and functional. Seems like the model we had before was just a faulty one by design. This new one was a step up and seems to be great. Works great and has been functional during testing and this mornings bible study. We are live and ready to go for our Sunday worship! Join us, all are welcome!
This Sunday will be a "part 2" to last Sunday's... "Is your name written in heaven?" Text: Luke 10:20 Thesis: Going to heaven is by INVITATION ONLY Discussion verses: Genesis 12:3 Titus 1:2 John 3:16 Romans 5:8-10 Romans 5:6 Philippians 2:8 Colossians 1:11-15 If anyone wishes for the "whole enchilada" on this sermon lesson, Dan is more than happy and willing to give the scoop for anyone interested and/or missed out. We always welcome anyone to join us and hear what God's word has to say. Any questions you have will be answered using the bible only, as it is the only authority and instruction for our living conduct on this earth.
The particular sound system we got, seems to be of poor design. Some of our members that was dealing with this matter saw a few other than ours, of that model at the store, in for repairs. We will not be streaming until we get this worked out. Possibly getting a different model of sound system instead of the same one again.
Apologies everyone. The sound was just fine last Wednesday, however, it seemed to fail us Today. We will get this worked out one of these days. Until then, people are more than welcome to come over here and join us. If your the shy type or you are not capable of joining us, call us, email us, facebook us and ask away the questions you have. We will be more than happy to answer them using the bible.
**News** For those who do not know already, we were able to get our streaming online with sound once again. Sounds good from the tests that were done, only thing now is you will not be able to hear much for the questions/comments posed by the individuals during study nights and morning. The test I ran anyway, I could not hear any one in the pews except maybe the first row. So it will kinda be filling in the blanks when you receive the answer from the speaker of the day(Dan or Rich). We thought about at one time, putting a mic for the people posing questions, but it would be too much of a distraction from the sermon with the crowd noise, children/babies, ambient noises. This will just have to due for now until absolutely necessary (which we don't see for a very long time).
**News** Still going through system bugs and other issues. We realized that our sound system went out on us. It will be replaced (hopefully for the Wed. service) and we noticed the camera is slightly offset. Some adjustment is needed. Please forgive the continued issues. We will consider this version 1.0 ( v 1.0 will always have issues

My apologies everyone. It turns out that when I left early noon Saturday, the service tech came by late noon and installed the encoder. The camera is now up and running, ready to be viewed. This mornings service should be uploaded to the YouTube account we have for anyone that missed it.
